Cary Audio Cinema 11a
Similar to the original, award winning Cinema 11, the award winning Cinema 11a was designed as an “audio focused” home theater processor with (x2) HDMI v1.3 inputs to accept the high resolution bit stream audio signals available from Blu ray discs today. The separate, companion video processor Cinema 11v, will switch all other HDMI video sources through it’s (x6) HDMI and (x2) components video inputs and output the video to the Cinema 11a through one of its HDMI v1.3 outputs.
We are purists at heart here at Cary Audio thus the lack of a true “video section” within the Cinema 11a. With a straight forward, shielded HDMI video repeater/pass-through, the Cinema 11a is as close as you can get to “audio only” within the parameters and needs of today’s high definition audio codecs. The unit allows for the independent setup of 2 listener profiles labeled as “music mode” and “movie mode”. These listener profiles have independent settings for speaker configuration, speaker distance, speaker level and crossover points. The Cinema 11a has 8 inputs which can be configured for optical digital, coaxial digital, or analog. Input 1 is actually a dedicated balanced input which can be set for balanced stereo analog or 110ohm balanced digital, both over XLR. Other features include an auto-setup via the included microphone and auto room EQ.
The most significant feature of the Cinema 11a is its ability to decode the raw bitstream signal from Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD and DTS HD MA. Through the HDMI v1.3 inputs the lossless, unaltered bitstream signal is sent to the Cinema 11a to be decoded within the Cirrus Logic processor, thus producing a much more faithful reproduction of the original movie score.
